2008 Beach Run Series

In what has become a Carteret County summer tradition for serious and recreational runners alike, the Beach Run Series starts at the Atlantic Beach Circle Thursday, April 24; runs are scheduled through July.

The series features the Mile, 5K, and 10K races and are run on the beach strand during low tide. Runners earn points - both overall and within their division (respective age groups) - according to how they finish in each race. At the end of the series, prizes are awarded to overall winners and to the 1st and 2nd place finishers, both female and male, in each division. Participants must run a minimum of 4 Beach Runs to qualify for awards and t-shirts.

Dexter Williams Summer Youth Basketball Camp

This camp is designed to take the athlete’s game to the next level. Complete instruction to develop solid basketball fundamental skills, proper physical conditioning, sportsmanship and to maximize the athlete’s potential. Register Early!  Maximum enrollment is 50 campers.

Coed Adult Soccer

• Teams have been organized for the 2008 Spring Adult Co-ed Soccer season.
• Games will be played at Swinson Park in Morehead, starting Sunday, April 20.
• Game times are 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

Coed Adult Ultimate Frisbee  

• Teams have been organized for the 2008 Spring Adult Co-ed Ultimate Frisbee season.
• Games will be played at Freedom Park in Beaufort, starting Tuesday, April 22.
• Game time is 6:00 pm.

 Youth Basketball Winter Season

Team practice starts the first week of December, games will begin the first of January.

These leagues promote the sport of basketball on an organized basis to both boys and girls age 7-18 years old. Emphasis is placed on skill development, sportsmanship, participation, and most importantly, having fun.

Adult Coed Soccer
Carteret County Parks & Recreation's adult coed soccer program is for anyone over the age of 18 interested in enjoying the sport of soccer. Sportsmanship, teamwork and having fun are stressed to all participants. All adults are encouraged to play.

Adult Coed Kickball
The adult kickball program is a wonderful opportunity for anyone 18 & older who is looking for some exercise and fun! Businesses are encouraged to sponsor teams.
