SiteMap
County Commissioners approved funding for and gave Parks & Recreation permission to apply to the Parks and Recreation Trust Fund for a grant to build a community park next to the Newport Middle School, on 11 acres that were donated by the Board of Education in exchange for improvements to the middle school ball fields. The County was awarded $500,000 in grant funds and began construction in the Fall of 2008 with grading, utilities installation and seeding. The County Health Department contributed fitness stations on the walking trail that were funded by a $20,000 Eat Smart Move More Community Grant. Site Map
