In Honor of Bill Stanley

Bill Stanley, known to most as Billy, served Carteret County Parks and Recreation from 2008 to 2012 as Athletics Supervisor. During this time as Athletics Supervisor, Bill oversaw the County Youth Basketball league, the Beach Run Series, adult co-ed Kickball, managed Senior Games events, started the first Fall Road Race Series in 2011, and brought Pickleball to Carteret County in 2012, among other duties. He is remembered by those that he worked with both in the office and out in the field as being passionate, funny, committed to Carteret County athletics and recreation, and being a genuinely caring and supportive person. He is missed in the Parks & Recreation community and has made a difference to many athletes, coaches, county employees, and citizens of the County.
This is your chance to check it out! Carteret County Parks and Recreation will host "Pickleball Open Play" every Tuesday through December, 9am to 11am. courts will be set up and wooden paddle racquets and plastic poly "pickle" balls will be provided (limited supply). NO FEE TO PARTICIPATE!
