| Eastern, Western, and Swinson Parks will be closed to all users on May 20th & 21st for pesticide application. |
Freedom Park road Alert |
| Parks maintenance will be fields for molecrickets and fire ants, part of the Department's turf management program. Pesticides are necessary to control insects that are destroying the grass and timing of application is very important if it is to be effective. Athletic league representatives will be notified since their reservations of these areas are cancelled for those two days. People and their pets are prohibited from being in any areas of the parks those two days. |
The Town of Beaufort is doing work near Freedom Park on the waste treatment plant. The Town is erecting fence at Freedom Park for safety purposes. Please be aware of this construction, which will mean alot of heavy trucks using the road daily from about 6 am until at least 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Carteret County Parks and Recreation thanks the Town of Beaufort for taking these precautions to protect park patrons. |
